Our Southern Honeymoon

Deek and I got married--again--this time, on the East Coast. Read all about our Southern wedding here. After our Pacific Northwest wedding, we had a very short honeymoon, but we always planned to have a big one after our Southern wedding. Nevertheless, we loved our short little jaunt to Portland, and we made the most of our time there.

Here are some moments from our first honeymoon...

Yummy food

The Portland White House complete with my very own Prince Charming! <swoon>

Our Southern wedding took place nearly six months later, in a totally different time of year. So, we took advantage of the beach! My aunt and uncle own a GORGEOUS place at Carolina Beach, and as a wedding present, they let us use it for the week! WUT? Let me tell you, my aunt has always been one classy, stylish lady, and her beach house totally reflects that. We could have stayed at some five star hotel in the most posh of places, and it would not have been as nice at my aunt and uncle's place. Seriously. What an amazing gift they gave us. We are so eternally grateful!

Now, join us for a pictorial view of our second, Southern honeymoon!

The beach!! For those of you that don't know, the weather at the Pacific Northwest beaches is almost always cold. I went in August and needed a NorthFace jacket with a fleece liner. In the South, however, our beaches are super warm. Deek and I enjoyed 85-90 degree weather during our whole stay!

My aunt and uncle's beach house has this luxurious porch. The first day, Deek and I sat on that porch for about 4 hours. We talked, laughed, drank coffee, and enjoyed the warm, beautiful sunshine and beach air.

That night, we ventured out to the boardwalk. We were so relaxed and bummin' it that I just threw my hair in a ponytail. #chillin

We were told that Britts Donuts has been voted second best in the country. Since I'm pretty sure Portland's own Voodoo Donuts was voted THE best, we had to taste the competition's donuts.

We had a beachfront dinner by the moonlight.

The next day, we got a massage. Deek's parents gave us gift cards for it, so that was the PERFECT gift to unwind. The massage place had this super cute cabana style theme going on too!

We loved it.

We came home, showered, and got dressed up for a date night on the town.

We enjoyed a romantic stroll along the beach by moonlight.

The next day we decided to head down to the beach and soak up some rays.

Beachin' it.

Gorgeous views

Tonight, we party like we're 12. LOL!

That's right, folks!

No evening at a carnival is complete without a slide down the great big Fun Slide!

We enjoyed the little carnival so much that we went back the next day for more! Bumper cars--YES!

More beach time. Can't get enough!

And more moonlight meals--where my husband snuck pictures of me. ;)

And there were fireworks!!

The moon over the water. So beautiful!

What's a Southern honeymoon without a cowboy hat?

Deek and I had a total blast on our honeymoon. We spent time together and had fun! What more could you ask for?

We are so thankful to have had a beautiful, fun wedding and honeymoon in the South. We are blessed beyond measure to have such an amazing family and wonderful friends. I've gotta send out another big THANK YOU to my grandparents for hosting the wedding, to my aunt and uncle for their gorgeous beach house, and to Deek's employer for allowing him to go on this adventure!

I love you, Deek Rhew. I'd marry you every day if I could. You are the light of my life. Thank you for a wonderful second wedding and honeymoon! Thank you for making my dreams come true. But most of all, thank you for being you!
