Our Southern Wedding

Hello!! <waves> Deek and I have been on a bit of a whirlwind. We spent a month visiting my family and friends, and we rode the train to do it (you know there will be a blog post coming about cross-country train trips!!). We are SO thankful Deek's employer is amazingly awesome and let him use a combination of paid time off and remote working to take this trip with me!

While on the trip, we had our Southern wedding! Deek and I went back and forth about the location. On the one hand, we wanted to have the ceremony on the beach where he proposed. But on the other hand, we wanted to have it at my grandparents' house because that place holds so many memories for me. Ultimately, we decided upon my grandparents' house, and I'm so glad we did!

The beach where Deek proposed

When I was a little girl, I spent a lot of time at my grandparents' house, particularly during the summer, since my mom worked. I played in the creek behind their house, which I called PaPa's (that's what I call my grandfather) beach. I crawled through the maze-like tunnels in their small business across the street. I threw pine cones in the lake beside their house, and those eventually grew into trees! My grandparents call those trees the "Erin trees." My family holds annual celebrations at that house and in the business across the street, so I just have the fondest memories of being there. I could think of no better place to wed the man of my dreams...again. ;)

My buddy and Dream Team member Kim offered to take the photos at our wedding, so here are some of our favorites...

Here's a little sass with your fras! ;)

People, this HUNK is my husband! <swoon>

Sha-zam! Holy heck he's hawt!

We reenacted one of our engagement photos for this shot! ;)

Here is that engagement photo for comparison! ;)

I love looking at him. I could stare at that face all day!

And then we got silly...

And sillier...

We always have fun!

Kim took a picture of the tattoos we got after our Pacific Northwest wedding.

Here I am walking down the "aisle" with my PaPa. I cannot even begin to express in words how much I love that man. He's the best grandfather a girl could ever ask for! PS: My dad walked me down the aisle in the PNW wedding, and he officiated this one.

My Dad and Deek. I love this picture!

My Dream Team gals!! (Right to left: Ginny, Dawn, me, Kim, and Danielle)

My cousin made these arrangements for the tables. Aren't they beautiful? She picked purple for The Prophecy! :)

My PaPa made this watermelon design. He's been making designs out of fruit for events since I was a little girl. I remember sitting there watching him one time when I was about 5. I said, "PaPa, when I grow up and get married, will you make me a bride and groom watermelon?" He said, "Yes I will, BabyDoll." And he did. :)

Did I mention the wedding was outside in 95 degree heat, with Southern humidity? Thank goodness for big ole fans! ;)

Here I am with the lovely blogger (and my friend) Caroline! :) Yes, I really am THAT short, and yes, she really is THAT tall!

Here is the message the Dream Team wrote to us in our wedding book. Have I mentioned I love these gals?

And here they are reading it to us!

We had SUCH an amazing second wedding! We were beyond blessed to have so many of our friends and family come and share our special day with us. And I'm tickled pink to have married Deek again. Y'all, he's the perfect man for me. He's all the dreams I ever had all rolled up into one kind, funny, intelligent, handsome man. True love exists, friends. Never give up hope!

Next time, I'll blog about our honeymoon. As our wedding present, my totally awesome aunt let us use her super nice beach house! So, stay tuned for that adventure!!

Until then...
